Northern Lights | for sweet dreams

Indica

Afghani x Thai

Northern Lights is a classic strain that descends from Thai and Afghani landraces, where cannabis probably first appeared on our planet. One of the most well-known strains of all time, Northern Lights’ reputation for full-body euphoria is well-earned. It’s one of the purest indicas you can find and provides a deep wave of relief from head to toe. Be prepared for sleeping, and don’t have too much on your to-do list. Newbies should save Northern Lights for evening use.

Characteristics

This strain is pungent! All I need to do is crack the jar and it’s obvious that it’s (sedated) party time. Nothern Lights is known among cannabis growers as an easier strain to cultivate. The plants are hearty, are heavy producers, and are ready to harvest in record time. Our most recent homegrown Northern Lights harvest had humongous buds. For real. Enormous cola’s as thick as my arm and heavy with sticky resiny goodness.

But all that sticky icky means that I need to be careful grinding this flower. I like to break apart the huge buds by hand and then run the smaller pieces through a grinder. When dealing with really large or extremely sticky buds, I’ve had a lot of success with using an electric grinder. It saves the tips of my fingers from being covered in fragrant stickiness, and it makes quick work with huge buds and thick stems.

The High

I feel Northern Lights first in my body, typically my limbs. The high kicks in right away and is marked by a sense of relaxed euphoria and physical slowness. I feel heavy on this strain, like my limbs are weighed down and I sink extra deep into my mattress. It’s extremely relaxing and has an instant mellowing effect. Northern Lights is a quiet mood lifter.

Cannabis newbies should expect a heavy but happy couch lock. Remember, this is one of the more sedating of strains and is especially effective for nighttime use.

Medical

Northern Lights treats so much, it could be kept in the medicine cabinet. An excellent remedy for insomnia, lack of appetite, anxiety, and pain. It’s like a pain pill, a sleeping pill, a happy pill, and a calm pill, all in one medication. No matter what you are treating, you can expect to feel really good with Northern Lights.
