Volcano Vaporizer Review | The Big Daddy
Since the first time I used the Volcano, I wanted one. Badly. But it can be very difficult to justify spending a bunch of money on anything related to our cannabis use. Honestly, cannabis itself is often expensive enough!
But vaporizing is so cost-effective, far more than smoking, and the health benefits are impossible to deny. Vaporizing has become a part of my self-care routine, just as much as smoking cannabis is, and I sometimes contemplate a future where I always eschew smoking for vaping (not making any promises though).
So it was a dream come true when I was given a Volcano of my very own, by my favorite vaporizer shop, VapeWorld.com. VapeWorld has provided the bulk of my vaporizer collection over the years and offer great service and customer response. If you decide to invest in any vaporizer, be sure to purchase from an authorized dealer such as VapeWorld.
As usual, in this review I show pictures, outline specs, detail the contents of the box, as well as talk about my personal opinions and share some tips based on my experience with the Volcano. There’s also a video walk-thru for the more visual types. Let’s get started!

Using the Volcano Vaporizer
The Volcano Vaporizer uses a vacuum system that pumps in fresh, filtered air, which is heated temperatures high enough to cause vaporization. Hot air passes over your cannabis, filling the Volcano balloon by the method of forced air. Once the balloon is filled with vapor, it is ready to be detached and used.
Honestly, using the Volcano is kind of a thrill. Scroll on for a photo tutorial of the process, or check out the above episode of The Stoner Mom Show.
What I Love About the Volcano Vaporizer
The Joys of Vaped Cannabis!
Vaporizing with any device produces a little-talked about substance: AVB or already vaped buds. It is also known as ABV or already been vaped. So here’s what it is. Since vaporizing entails no combustion, vaped cannabis is not burnt. It doesn’t turn to ashes or disappear. Instead it gradually darkens in color until the cannabis is completely brown. You can vape the same cannabis several times to great effect. And when the cannabis is no longer suitable for vaping it becomes perfect for creating edibles or concentrates.
The Volcano’s hefty price tag may keep the average parent far, far away and I completely get this. I will say, there is considerable saving in the fact that your cannabis has a much longer shelf life than by any other consumption method.
Reliability for the Medical Patient
For the steadfast stoner with a high tolerance, it may seem that vapor could not possibly get one as medicated as a bong rip. This assumption is wrong of course. Vapor has more cannabinoids then smoke, so with a quality device that is well-maintained, vaporizing will treat the medical cannabis patient with more of the essential cannabinoids then smoking ever could. With the Volcano’s large balloons literally filled with cannabinoids, the patient can rely on the Volcano to work. If you are smoking cannabis regularly for health reasons, I strongly encourage you to give vaping a try.
Reliability for the Recreational User and Enthusiast
Storz & Bickle has been working on this product since the 90’s and should be respected for having some of the highest quality vaporizers anywhere in the world. When you invest in a Volcano you are investing in a tool that will last for several years. I have had many vaporizers, including bad ones, and I personally know the pain of buying a product that you think is going to get you high, only to feel completely hoodwinked with an unpleasant vaping experience. The Volcano does not live in the same sphere as any of those other devices. This isn’t a brand new company looking to capitalize on the growing cannabis industry. The Volcano can be counted on to work, and its reliability is what I love most about it.
Closing Thoughts
At almost $500 the Volcano is definitely an investment piece, but with its superb german engineering there is no doubt that its price tag is earned. In my opinion, the Volcano is an excellent option for the medical marijuana patient who consumes a lot of cannabis and for the dedicated cannabis enthusiast ready to commit to a healthy smoking alternative.
