Welcome to The Stoner Mom- a lifestyle blog offering a unique parental perspective on all things marijuana.

Weed has a sweet spot in my heart and in my mind and I have wanted a place to express that for awhile. I will be blogging about my experiences as a stoner mom in the suburbs, hopefully giving some unique insight in how the drug can be used legally and responsibly as a parent. There will probably be a lot of stoned rambling too… cause who doesn’t need a stoner pal to check up on?

  • Check out the About page for an outline of how I got from a judgmental queen bee mom to the laid back stoner mom I am today. Truth is, stoners can be super productive moms with genius kids and stable lives. Responsible use of a natural plant. Imagine that.
  • My Weed 101 page is a quick rundown of the basics of marijuana– the medical benefits, the difference between sativas and indicas, how pot is consumed and how to legally obtain it.
  • Every Wednesday I will be posting a Pot Review for insight on some different weed strains and how they can impact your parenting (hint: some give you super powers).

My official reason for using marijuana is to treat the debilitating nausea that unfortunately accompanies my anxiety disorder. My personal reason for using marijuana is to treat my depression, something I am diagnosed with and have lived with for a long time. I take traditional drugs (SSRIs) to treat both depression and anxiety, and use marijuana as a valuable tool in managing my depressive disorder.

I also use marijuana recreationally and for a variety of reasons. I use it  to relax with my husband at the end of the day, like a glass of wine in bed. I use it to start a night out with my BFF, like a cocktail at a swank bar. I use it when I need to get a ton of things done, like a pot of fresh coffee.

I love marijuana. I think it shows. I love my kids, and that shows too. I’m a normal, sweet person. I hope you dig it here. 🙂
