Harvest Time Is Here!

Welcome back to another edition of What’s Going on in Dave’s Grow? In this video, I take down my grow from my 5 x 5 tent using the amazing Ez-ZENtials nutrient line from Zen Products. I highly suggest checking them out. I used the part powder, part liquid line and was extremely pleased as you will see in this video. Be sure to watch my video all about the Zen Products line here.

The Weight

OK, so everyone knows you can’t weigh wet flower. It’s just not fair. I mean all that water weight affects the weight. I am proud to say that after the drying process, I was left with 3.25 pounds of glorious flower. All of the colas were firm and amazing! I tried a new method of caging my plants with bamboo rods and rubber-coated gardening wire which I will be doing again on my next grow.

This method allowed me to remove my plants and better tend to them throughout the grow process. Oftentimes, the poor plants in the back of the tent are neglected because of an immovable SCROG setup. I highly recommend trying this out and manicuring the bottom of your plants to promote lots’ of massive colas.

The Drying Process

In this video, you saw me bring out each plant individually and “buck” them. Bucking is a term that means to snip off the branches of the cannabis plant. From there, you can cut and manicure each bud individually if you like. I chose to simply buck each cola and place into my drying racks.

The process usually takes about 7 – 10 days depending on your room’s humidity levels. You can also add an oscillating fan, humidifier, and de-humidifier into the mix if you want to really monitor those things. My room has low humidity levels and I add in an oscillating fan on low the first few days.

Be sure to check your flower daily so it doesn’t get too dry. You will know it is done once you bend one of the stems and they snap. From there it is curing time. In my next video, we will be covering the curing process with my beloved Boveda packs.

The Genetics

The plants you saw in this video started from seed. A big thank you to Dutch Seed Shop for supplying the seeds that lead to these beautiful plants you see in the video. All of them were feminized and were a nice mix of Sativas, Indicas, and Hybrids. They have an amazing selection so be sure to check them out.

Don’t Forget To Store It Correctly

As always, always use Boveda to store your cannabis. You just spent months growing your flower. All of that time and effort can quickly be thwarted with improper storage. Boveda assures the perfect Rh for your cannabis. I use the size 8 62% as I like my flower to remain sticky and potent smelling. The 58% is perfect for a smoother smoke and an easier to break apart product. Be sure to check out all of Boveda’s amazing Rh solutions at bovedainc.com.

Thank you for watching once again! Stay tuned for the next video and don’t forget to sign up for a class if you want to learn how to grow your own at home. You can do that here.

Happy Gardening!
