Hello and welcome back to What’s Going On In Dave’s Grow. In this post we will be checking on the progress of my current grow. I am hosting a giveaway of 6 #5 Smart Pots. All you have to do is scroll down to the bottom of this post to enter.
What Am I Growing?
In this grow I have 2 strains. Apple Fritter and Platinum Cake. I have 9 plants in #5 smart pots. I am using Pro-Mix and still using the Success Nutrients Pro Line. The grow light is a Black Dog LED PhytoMAX-2 800 series light.
Thoughts On This Grow
I put 9 plants in 5 gal. smart pots in this tent. I have to say I think it was too much. Having this many plants growing at once makes it difficult to maintain the proper level of care needed. For instance, accessing all of the plants to feed is now challenging. They are growing close together and the canopy is huge making it difficult clean up underneath.
I would also say installing a SCROG is a challenge here. Too many plants make it really hard to spot issues and to manicure the plants regularly. I say 6 plants max moving forward and remember your plants will fill up the space they are in, so more is not always better.
