Welcome back growers! Thank you for tuning back in to What’s Going on in Dave’s Grow?
This week we are starting a new grow from seeds. The nice people at The Vault sent us some amazing strains that are in this video. If you are just starting out in growing, I would highly recommend this online seed resource. They have an amazing collection of quality breeders with some insane genetics.
In the coming weeks I will be showing updates with this grow. I will also be moving these in to a larger tent when it comes time to switch to flower. For now they are in the good old 3.5″ x 3.5″ grow tent with the Black Dog LED PhytoMAX-2 600 grow light. This is absolutely hands down my favorite lighting option. The 600 is the ideal grow light for home growers and this particular model outperforms the heavy weights like Fluence and California Lightworks. The best part, the 600 watt option from Black Dog LED is less expensive than the aforementioned 600 watt options.
Here are the strains I am growing:
Cherries Jubilee – Cali Connection
Skywalker Kush – DNA Genetics
Tahoe OG – Cali Connection
French Macaron – T.H. Seeds
Maui Waui – Nirvana Seeds
Louis XIII – Cali Connection
What’s next?
In the coming weeks, we will be checking in on the progress of these plants. The immediate need is to transplant in to 5-gallon smart pots. I am also running this grow in good old coco coir. I have decided to break out the Advanced Nutrients line for this grow as well. Stay tuned and check my feed on instagram @whatsgoingonindavesgrow.

i really enjoyed the video. I am looking forward to watching your grow in progress. I hope to grow my own when it is legal in my state. I sure hope it is soon!
Thanks Dave! Love how relaxed and simple you make everything. Just ordered seeds from 2 different companies this week… Really wish I knew about your seed source! our electric rates are the highest in the state, so will be vegging indoors for transplant to outside. Normally I do a winter and then an out door grow, but can’t do the extra $275/mo for electric when we are getting hit with arctic cold here and the heating bill is nuts too.
You doing coco? I’ve never had much luck with nutes- I’ve been making my soil, but am interested in what you are using! This will be my sixth year growing. I usually do two grows as a year.
I’ll be watching you closely! Thank you for being so personable and easy to watch in your videos.
Thanks for watching the posts. Yes I am doing coco. I took some time off from it to grow in sunshine #4, but decided to go back to coco. I have a lot of nutrients to choose from and want to start using Advanced Nutrients again. Growing in coco means more feedings, but you also get a faster grow because coco is basically a hydroponic option.
