The Stoner Mom didn’t abandon you darlings, I promise!
I decided to take a couple weeks off of the blog to begin the holiday season as it should be begun; relaxed and family focused. In addition to the pleasure of having my parents here for Thanksgiving, I was also whisked away by the husband for an overnight in Vail. He and I are the only two people in Colorado who don’t ski, or so it feels. My husband is too big and tall to ski, and I am allergic to winter. I don’t know how much longer we can resist though, especially now that his career has taken him in the direction of luxury mountain resorts. There are a lot of mountain meetings in his long term future, and I suppose I have no choice but to tag along.
On Sunday all of our children were safely with their other parent so up the mountain we went. After a lovely afternoon eating soup and drinking a lot, we had dinner at Matsuhisa and head to bed early. In the morning he fetches coffee, leaves it on my bedside and goes off to his meeting. I have the morning hours to myself and spend them entirely in my hotel room with a good book and my camera.
Now it’s all business as usual; children back in school and out of town guests back home. So the luxury life is put back on the shelf as I break out Elf on a Shelf and get through three upcoming birthdays of my children as well as Christmas. It’s present buying time over here, and cake baking, and elf hiding, and lots of extra activities at the school to attend time. It’s the time of year that calls for a lot of pot. That’s good, because I have a lot of that.
Thestonermom.com will now resume her regular posting schedule. Carry on sweeties.
